Association Youth Information and Consulting Centre „Intellect” – Pleven  is a youth organization founded on 01.12.2006 year. The organization is defined as non-profit organization, situated in Pleven with an address for correspondence: +359 889 242 157, e-mail: miniciativi@gmail.com

Main objectives of the organization
1. Planning, development and project management. 2. Create conditions to support the social integration of young people. 3. Active struggle against drug addiction and other dependencies. 4. Organization of tourist and cultural events. 5. Promotion of conservation of the environment. 6. Encouraging and organizing activities in the field of sport. 7. Building Communities of youth leaders. 8. Initiating a partnership between youth and other organizations.

Human Resources
The organization is composed of 40 young people working in different fields and 150 volunteers who participate actively in the realization of its goals. The team consists of specialists in law, economics, informatics, education, professional counseling and others. Each of them has already built image and reputation in its field of action. Members of the association have extensive experience in developing and implementing of projects.

Successfully implemented youth activities and initiatives for 2007 – 2012 period.
Association: Information and consulting centre for the youth “Intellect” – Pleven is on of the most militant youth organizations in the region of Pleven. The association has a lot of experience realizing projects, initiatives and campaigns. The purpose of the organization is to provide the young people with accessible and quality information consistent with the needs of youngsters. The asociation elaborates and implements activities in support of personal development and social integration of the young people. Till this moment Youth centre – Pleven has supported the foundation of a variety of youth organizations and sports clubs which already conduct their own independent activities. Lectures, consultations and trainings in the field of the law, euro integration, psychology, economics, forensic, philology, farming, social activities, health care, web and graphic design and music are being held in parallel with sports activities.
Since year 2011 the youngsters from the Centre began to visualize their initiatives in a new, more atractive way through video clips, using their own original music, script and acting performance ("A moment",”Gold fish", “In search of"). Among its other tasks for the year 2012, the team of Youth centre also works on support and organization of sports and enviromental events, as well as development of projects with focus on youth and musical activities. All of the team’s realized initiatives are being summarized and published in the regional newspaper “Young, tolerant and informed” disseminated cost-free on the territory of Pleven region.

Since the beginning of year 2012 representatives of Information and consulting centre for the youth “Intellect” – Pleven manage activities of “Young ecologist” in PFBS (Public Financial Business School) “Intellect” through project: “Lets make school more attractive for young people” (“Success”), co-financed by the European Social Fund in the frame of Operational programme: “Human resource development 2007 – 2013”. The club has been established as an extracurricular activity in the field of “Healthy lifestyle” and its goal is to provoke interest and affinity towards nature in the minds of young people. Ofcourse there is a variety of attractive approaches for visualization and presentation of the themes, besides environment ones. In 2012 the Association of Youth Information and Consulting Center "Intellect" Pleven became partner in an approved cross-border project with the Romanian Association for Informal Education D "ACCORD". The program under which the application is made is: Youth in Action - Youth Exchanges, Action 1.1. Reference: Ro-11-261-2011-R4. Project participants are Romanian and Bulgarian youths aged 15 to 25 years. Young people took participation in local customs and traditions in the festival, which promotes the traditions of both countries. In 2012 young people from the Youth Centre took part in the campaign of BTV - "Let's clean Bulgaria for one day". In 2011 the team of the Youth Center - Pleven together with "Youth Initiatives" became partners in project "Such is life." The project was won and implemented by the Association of Rural Youth "Together." The commitments that the project refers to are providing information for the activities and creating a website to promote it. In early 2010, it supported the establishment of the Sports Club Martial Arts "K1", which is already preparing athletes and coaches. On January 10, 2009 Youth Center - Pleven created the first youth internet radio "Youth Zone" - which currently promotes youth centers in the country. Transmission is broadcast on radio ORV - Varna www.radioorv.com and Radio MIX – Sofiya www.mixbg.net . From 2008 added to the activities of Youth Center - Pleven are Aikido and Jeet Kune Do. The instructors are members of "International Institute of Martial Arts and Special Tactics" IMASTI and representatives of the Sports Club Aikido - Pleven. In 2008 the team of Youth Center – Pleven, the School board and PFBS "Intellect" , under the "Libraries for Bulgarian schools" program – an initiative of First Investment Bank, in collaboration with the "Workshop for Civil Initiatives," which won the project was updated and has expanded the school library. In 2008, the Youth Association realized project : "To stand openly to each other" as the project initiated a dialogue between youth cultural communities and the local cultural diversity was presented through informal dialogue between youth from different ethnic communities. Through the project were conducted round tables, debates and advertising campaigns, which encourage young people to participate in cultural life and provoke a desire for understanding and collaboration. In 2008 we founded the first american football sports club in Pleven - "Braveheart". Shotly after that, thanks to the team of Youth Center – Pleven and "Youth Initiatives" - the first official match was organized in Pleven as "Braveheart" stood against "Team" Sofia он on the stadium and gathered over 3,000 people. In 2007 the team of Pleven Youth Center participated in the implementation of two projects - one in Active Services on the Labour Market program of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy - "Planning Local Economic Development in the Danube municipalities" and PHARE - CBC - "Cross-border cooperation to promote tourism in Pleven region and Prefecture Olt - Romania ".

PLEVEN NOMINATION FOR MEMBER OF THE JURY OF THE EUROPEAN DRUG PREVENTION PRIZE

The Youth Informational–Consultant Center “Intelekt”, Pleven, by School for children with special education needs „P.R. Slaveykov”, Pleven, received an invitation from the Secretariat of the Pompidou Group Council of Europe to appoint its representative to participate actively in the jury for the next two cycles of the European Drug Prevention Prize.
The Co-operation Group to Combat Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs (Pompidou Group) is an inter-governmental body formed in 1971 at the initiative of the late French President Georges Pompidou.
In 1980 the Group was incorporated into the institutional framework of the Council of Europe and at present it comprises 35 member states
The European Drug Prevention Prize.
(http://www.coe.int/t/dg3/pompidou/Initiatives/PreventionPrize/default_en.asp), launched in 2004, is awarded every two years to three drug prevention projects that fully involve young people, either in the development and implementation of activities, decision-making, project management and/or evaluation.
The Pompidou Group awards this Prize every two years in order to highlight good-quality drug prevention projects that have proved success in practice in involving young people. In general, it aims to encourage the development of drug prevention work that involves young people.
The Youth Informational–Consultant Center „Intelekt”, Pleven, has got a great number of regional, national and international youth initiatives and projects. The nominated person of Youth Centre is Petya Hristova, a student in the Mathematical high school in Pleven. She is a volunteer with the Youth Centre since its beginning and participates in all of the projects, initiatives and campaigns of this organization.
During the year of 2010 European Drug Prevention Prize, the project „Together Against Drugs” on School for children with special education needs „P.R. Slaveykov”, Pleven, has been commended by the Council of Europe on cooperation in combating drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking.
From a total of 80 projects submitted from 26 European countries for the European Drug Prevention Prize, 2010, in Strasbourg Commission selected 11 projects it deems most attractive and innovative in terms of content and participation of young people in them. Among these 11 projects is the „Together Against Drugs” on School for children with special education needs „P.R. Slaveykov”, Pleven, Bulgaria.
